Happy New Year!
My wish for everyone is that 2018 is an amazing and a positive year!
I know that 2017 for many was a year you’d like to forget. And for many, it was a year you will carry in your hearts forever.
Those of you who know me personally know that last year was filled with disappointments in every aspect of my life. I generally do not make New Year’s resolutions. However, I am this year, and it is an old and not so simple one:
That I will try harder to accept the things I cannot change.
That I will change the things, I can.
That I will have the wisdom and understanding to know the difference.
And yes, this is the Serenity Prayer.
But let’s face it. No one can make people do things they just will not do. We can not control the weather, but wouldn’t be great. If I could, it wouldn’t be so frigging cold. What we can do is change things in ourselves to make us a better person.
Every day I plaster a smile on my face when many times I’m crying on the inside. I know that many of you do the same. Life can be overwhelming, depressing, lonely, and just plain mean. Last year, I let it control my life. This year, I will focus on my writing, my family, you my readers, and on the positive things in my life.
So, for you, make 2018 be a year of new beginnings.
Let go of things you cannot control. Don’t let it control your life.
Change things you can. Start by loving yourself and accepting who you are. If you are curvy and healthy, then rock them curves baby. Love yourself. Every day you need to look in the mirror and see what a wonderful and beautiful person you are and do not let someone else’s negativity suck the life out of you. Believe in yourself.
Let’s own 2018!!!
Love you all!
Georgiana
